Turkey weekend this year was fantastic. Full of family, close friends and Tofurkey! Thanksgiving day was a typical holiday for our family...movies, lots of food and trying to sneak out early so you don't get stuck with all the leftovers. Friday was national buy-nothing day (according to Jill). I've never heard of such a thing, maybe that's b/c I'm usually one of those crazy fools trying to shop on the busiest shopping day of the year. This year I was good, although I still purchased, I didn't buy much and I can justify it b/c I biked downtown to the stores instead of driving :)
Saturday I was one with the wilderness and went hiking out in Darrington with Jill and Kammi! This was my third official hike and I brought the Deez-man with me. 8 miles of climbing over trees, hopping over creeks and hurdling mud pits along Boulder Creek, we emerged out of the trail head little muddy and a little chilled, but feeling very alive and rejuvenated from the outdoors....and then I passed out in the car on the way home.
Sunday was yet another productive day, which was spent up north running errands with the mother. I'm not complaining though, there something great about returning to my old stopping grounds ever now and then. Plus, I usually get hooked up with some food! So all in all it's be a great extended weekend and for the most part a much needed mini-vacation.
